We drove up to the Whitehorse memorial instead of walking it which was a shame because it looks to be a fun walk. The view of the horse is actually better from the town, up close its pretty old and needs a water blast and repaint
t’s a great wee spot and we drove through a town called Cave, go figure. The next morning we headed out to do the Mt. Nimrod walk which says it’s 2-3 hours.
Taranaki Falls were not as spectacular as the other waterfalls we have seen but still an A for effort. The lower and upper lakes that appear in these craters were worth the walk but were quite difficult to photograph with the low cloud cover

Cathedral Cove is an easy 30 minute walk from where the shuttle driver drops you. I would recommend paying the $5 each for this service as it probably saves an additional 30 minutes walking
