This was our first visit to Peel Forest! We stayed at the Peel Forest Doc Campground which has amazing facilities (even a hot shower) and lots of space to park up! It did get a little busy as it was a long weekend but I would imagine on a normal weekend they wouldn't be that full.
Our initial plan for the Saturday was to walk to Acland Fall, Allans Track and then onto Fern Walk. After completing Acland Falls and Allans Track we came to Deep Spur track which heads up to Little Mt. Peel which is 2.5 hours up and 2.5 hours back if you come down the same way. However we decided to head down the southern track on the way down. Warning the southern track is for experienced trampers and it certainly felt that way! While it was rewarding and we can say we have done it, I found it quite brutal on the knees.
The views from the top of Little Mt Peel are stunning and its definitely worth the 5-7 hours of walking you will do depending on where you park or if you walk in. This is a great walk and certainly take your time to enjoy the stunning views on the way up and down the mountain.

After completing the walks in Peel Forest we decided to head to Geraldine for some lunch and a look around. We decided on lunch at Barkers Foodstore and Eatery! We had read good things about their pies and we all know how I love a good pie. I had the bacon and beef pie and Fiona had the chicken, while they were good pies they aren't the greatest pies we have had on our journeys! However the mixed berry smoothie I had is one of the best berry smoothies I have ever had! Totally recommend it!
