First off the google maps location for Tuahine Lighthouse was incorrect. We just found a guide online which lead us to the right spot to exit onto the beach. It is a short walk on the sand and then onto rocks for the remainder of the walk. We for some reason decided to do it barefoot which was stupid because the rocks were hot as it was a stunning day and this resulted in us burning the bottom of our feet by time we made our return journey. The lighthouse itself was very cool and not like the other along the east coast. I reckon it was the coolest looking. Well worth the hike over the rocks, it would pay to check the tide as is was coming in when we were leaving and it would be difficult to get around if the tide was all the way in.

Our last stop for the day was Tolaga Bay. We walked down the wharf and watched the local kids jumping of the wharf into the ocean and then up some stairs back onto the wharf. Looked like fun but I was far to chicken to give it ago. We then decided to stay the night in this lovely location. We went for our second swim of our travel and then enjoyed the rest of the night reading and relaxing.
