We started off by checking out the city of Napier. We checked out all the old Art Deco buildings throughout the city centre. We then headed out to Marine Parade and walked along the beach. There is a wharf you can walk out on and enjoy the views.

We then parked in Centennial Gardens and walked around the gardens which has a nice small waterfall and bridge. After that we walked up to Bluff lookout which gives you stunning views out over land and see that used to be completely underwater.

We then headed out of the city and completed Otatara Pa Historic Reserve Walk which was interesting and a brutal walk (easy walk still) in the hot weather.

Next stop was Waipatiki Beach which was stunning, very secluded and a nice calm beach to swim at and the water was 20 degrees. We didn't want to leave but the show must go on.

Last stop for the day was Shine falls which is the largest waterfall in the Hawkes Bay clocking in at 58 meters tall. It's a half-hour to the waterfull but totally worth the walk. The drive in is about 7ks on the gravel road which hasn't been grated for awhile so she is bumpy. Its definitely one of the better waterfalls in NZ.
