We traveled from Christchurch to Mt. Nimrod scienic reserve and arrived at about 8.30 at night and found we were the only ones at the campsite which was nice. It's a great wee spot and we drove through a town called Cave, go figure. The next morning we headed out to do the Mt. Nimrod walk which says it's 2-3 hours. We finished walking it in about 1.5 hours and stopped plenty of times to take photos. The walk itself is challenging in places and you will require a moderate fitness to get it done. That being said we were passed by people running it, who were much older than us. The waterfall is about half way through the walk and is worth a visit, I imagine on a nice day you could have a dip. It was a good walk though and would of had some great views had it not been foggy for us. I would recommend! The campsite itself has 8 parks probably and 2 toilets which are okay! We have used worse let me tell you. But a well maintained site by Doc!
